FAQs

Is this goal achievable?

Yes! We can do anything we set our minds to. The scale is manageable, the technology exists, we have the brains, and we already have a good head start.

How will local consumers/residents benefit from this project?

Through partnerships with local companies, we hope to offer consumers reduced rates on weatherization services as well as residential and community solar.

Has this been done elsewhere?

A similar effort is underway in Connecticut, and towns/cities across the nation are exploring ways to increase their energy independence through renewable energy

How can local businesses benefit from this project?

Businesses that get in on the ground floor have a built-in and large market, backed by a committed team.

What is the project timeframe?

We anticipate that it will take 5 years for all the towns in the West River Valley to become 100% renewable.

Is this project affiliated with a political party?

No. The Core Team leading this effort is a passionate and diverse group of people who have joined together around a common goal.

Why take this approach to addressing climate change?

Working on a small scale means we can be more nimble, move faster, make our own decisions (as towns) and see results faster.
